The Elk Creek property is located in Section 9 and 10, Township 13 and Range 5 West, W.M., in Lewis County Washington about thirty minutes west of Chehalis, near the town of Doty. The property has a mature timber stand, which is thirty-five years old and comprised primarily of Douglas Fir, and Red Alder. A three year old cruise showed 1.907mbf of merchantable timber. It should be noted that the trees are growing at their most aggressive rate at between seven to eight percent per year. The current volume is estimated at over 2.3 million board feet.
The property is zoned as R-10, which will allow one home site per ten acres. The applicant would have to go through the counties Large Lot subdivision process.. Lewis County also has a liberal policy regarding exempt segregations, which allows acreage to be split into twenty-acre parcels, requiring only a survey.
Elk Creek borders the north property line, and has year around runs of salmon and steelhead, as well as resident trout.
